- Provides direction for the delivery of community health services. Directs and supports program directors to carry out the daily operations for each program and supervision of staff.
- Facilitates data-driven decisions for program improvement and assures the completion of required program reports.
- Project Director for Title V MCH Block Grant.
- Participates in the development of agency budgets and implements approved budget for areas of responsibility. Assists with the grant application processes and other program-related opportunities.
- Oversees managers to ensure adequate staffing levels and maintains a high quality work force. Participates, as needed, in recruitment and terminations, monitoring staff performance, and conducting regular performance assessments including the annual performance appraisal process.
- Ensures staff and programs stay abreast of applicable changes in health care industry impacting programs and practices. Provides professional guidance to staff regarding agency policies and procedures.
- Monitors on an on-going basis national, state, and other identified health indictors that reflect the health of the Polk County community. Utilizing the data, tailor programs to improve the health of the community
- Assists the CEO in evaluating agency programs, policies, and services. Participates in the development of business plans and in the strategic planning process.
- Participates as a member of the EveryStep senior leadership team.
- Participates in professional activities (i.e. continuing education, publication, and research) and stays abreast of findings, practices and recommendations in the field of public nursing and community health services.
- Represents the agency at meetings and committees and participates in public relation and community activities that promote the organization's role as an effective member of the health care delivery system.
- Complies with accepted professional standards and principles and carries out the mission and vision of EveryStep.
- Participates on Advocacy Team and attends Legislative functions on a routine basis.
- Performs other functions other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all established policies, procedures and guidelines, including state and federal regulations, to assure safe practices and quality services.

- Recognizes and celebrates staff accomplishments and exceptional performance and services.
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to the scope of the position (Public or Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Social Work, etc). Masters Preferred but not required.
- At least ten years of upper-management experience in community relations, marketing, governmental relations, public relations and/or public administration.
- Knowledge of public health professional principles and practices. Knowledge and experience in management, including supervision, budget development, and grant writing
- Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate community health services
- Ability to supervise and work with a multi-disciplinary staff (nursing and non-nursing positions) and have ability to work as a team member of several multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to lead people through rapid change
- Ability to meet and communicate effectively with personnel from other agencies, the public, medical staff, and the community
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and work
- Knowledge of principles and methods involved in planning and directing programs and services
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Current understanding of changes occurring in the health care system.
- Ability to accept and effectively work with diverse populations and cultures.
- Ability to comply with accepted professional standards and ethical guidelines
- Must have valid driver's license, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation if driving is required
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, 2-step TB test and background check
- Physical requirements: Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally, and/or a small amount of force frequently to move objects, including the human body
- Physical activities: Talking, Hearing, Repetitive Motions, Fingering (picking, pinching, typing, etc.), Visual acuity (field of vision for analyzing data, viewing computer, using measurement devices, operating machines, determining accuracy or neatness, and/or making general observations)
- Environment: Work is primarily performed in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
- Time: Ability to be flexible with a varying schedule and programmatic requirements
