This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea. The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world.Our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as:
life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.
Job DescriptionBasic FunctionPerform standard and specialized machinist functions to support production shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Set-up and operate manual and CNC equipment when required for turning, drilling, tapping, milling, and grinding operations.
Ability to set-up and operate standard shop-type tools including, but not limited to: drill presses, routers, grinders, sanders, presses and saws.
Ability to set up, operate and program machine tooling (both standard and CNC) including, but not limited to: lathes, mills, machining centers and grinders.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings.Familiar with working in various materials including 300SS, Delrin, PVC, glass, carbon steel, brass.
Working knowledge and possession of standard personal shop tools and inspection practices.
Experience machining to tolerancing of +/- .0005"
Ability to keep accurate production, quality and maintenance records.
Support company continual improvement initiatives.
Ability to follow all safety procedures.
Regular attendance and the ability to get along with others in a team.
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsTools and EquipmentFamiliarity with the following tools and machines: Engine lathe, surface grinder, knee mill with EZ Track, wet saws, deburring equipment, CNC lathes and mills.
Education and Experience
High School graduate or equivalent required, trade school training preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience with the operation of Manual and CNC machines. Certification preferred.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, and follow verbal instruction preferred.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting (no more than approximately 40 lbs), fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
