- Interact with clients and regulatory agencies
- Prepare proposals
- Mentor junior staff
- Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the civil engineering discipline
- Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation and presentations
- Support the long-term strategy and growth of Civil Engineering work for WSP
- Ensure profitable performance of projects
- Develop proposal and project scopes, timelines, pricing, and budgets
- Collaborate with professionals from different disciplines to provide innovative solutions
- Exercise ethical decision-making and adhere to company policies
- Perform additional duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- PE registration
- Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering design
- Experience in areas such as design and construction quality assurance for solid waste systems, landfill gas management, and permitting for waste facilities
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in groups
- Team player with leadership skills
- Engineer license required
- Ability to make technical computations involving engineering principles
- Experience providing guidance to project members
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change and varying schedules
- Occasional travel may be necessary

Assistant Vice President Civil Engineer - Landfill & Solid Waste Consultant
Join our team at WSP, where we are currently seeking an Assistant Vice President Civil Engineer specializing in Landfill & Solid Waste Consultancy to work from one of our national offices. In this role, you will work closely with our Earth & Environment Team, contributing to projects that aim to fulfill our client's needs and address their obstacles. Your responsibilities will include leading project teams in delivering services for civil and environmental engineering projects related to waste management facility design, stormwater management, landfill gas management, operations planning, and construction quality assurance. Some travel and fieldwork may be required based on project demands.
At WSP, our team of 7,500 environmental experts is dedicated to providing practical strategies to study, protect, enhance, and restore the natural environment. We collaborate globally to tailor teams that cater to specific project requirements at various stages of a project's life cycle.
In this exciting opportunity, you will be involved in providing technical expertise for solid waste infrastructure and aggregate mining projects in both public and private sectors. You will ensure that tasks are executed with a high level of quality that meets or surpasses industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.

Expected Salary: $115,200 - $190,400
