Description
The OB Surgical Technician collaborates with the physician and RN in clinical and clerical tasks.
Following aseptic technique during obstetric/gynecological procedures is a must, working under the guidance of the physician and OB nursing team.
Post-delivery, the OB Technician is responsible for cleaning the procedure area and maintaining instruments according to protocols.
Duties also involve stocking patient and delivery rooms with necessary supplies immediately after surgery and ensuring availability of surgical suites.
The technician also gives special attention to patients with delicate conditions while assisting with personal care.Additional responsibilities may include administrative and clerical support such as answering unit phones and collecting patient details.
Must have graduated from an accredited nursing school or surgical technology program.Minimum of 3 years of progressive operating room surgical technician experience and at least one year of recent obstetrical surgical technician experience are mandatory.
