    JOB SUMMARY:

    LION is an international company that operates in three markets: the emergency services, military and civilian agency uniforms, and personal equipment markets. LION serves a global customer base of fire departments, military installations, law enforcement, institutions, corporate organizations, and training companies from multiple offices around the world. Our mission is to develop the best fire protective and fire training products possible to enhance the safety of the global workforce.

    The Government Sales Manager is responsible for all sales activities across all product lines that are sold into Government agencies.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Focus will be increasing market penetration across all LION Categories of Products
    • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
    • Pro-actively manage dealer network.
      • Determine and assess partners/ dealers
      • Develop a territory business plan for key dealers which includes Forecasting on a short, mid, and long term basis
      • Serve as main point of contact for dealer network
    • Participates in joint forecasting and Sales and Operations Planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets and sales forecasting.
    • Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of sales and marketing activities.
    • Partner with marketing team regarding marketing programs and materials.
    • Play a key role in building strategic partnerships, alliances and relationships to expand core product lines or bring new product lines to the organization.
    • Manage and track sales activity in CRM (Salesforce).
    • Establish relationships with key contacts at the Dealer level as well as the End User.
    • Proactively assesses and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis (Voice of Customer).
    • Represent LION at national tradeshows and major industry events.
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor degree desired, with accumulated years of experience taken into consideration.
    • Ability to build close connections with end-users and with LION's distribution partners.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer relations skills.
    • Working knowledge of CRM software.
    • Technical skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, basic email and smartphone.
    • Strong negotiation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
    • Demonstrated track record of sales results and growth.
    • Must be able to deliver impactful and concise presentations and demonstrations to large groups.
    • Proven leadership skills as a sales support and business development resource.
    • Understanding of business acumen and budgeting/ forecasting processes preferred.
    RELATIONSHIPS & CONTACTS:
    • Build strong relationships with dealer principles and industry partners.
    • Work closely with Senior Sales Leadership, Customer Sales and Support, Internal and External Sales team members, Marketing, and President, Lion Group Americas.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Travel roughly 50% or as required to meet the needs of the position.
    • Highly flexible and able to react constructively and with a positive attitude to multiple demands, shifting priorities, change and unexpected events.
    • May be required at times to perform light lifting and carrying (30 lbs) and up to 8 hours a day on standing/walking/ driving.
