Job Description

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time Animal Care Assistant. This position primarily focuses on providing care and support for the animals on our farm during weekends. If you have a passion for animal welfare and are available to work on weekends, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our farm animals.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the health and well-being of our farm animals by providing daily care, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their overall condition.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures, barns, and other areas to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
Help with basic grooming and hygiene tasks, such as brushing, bathing, and hoof trimming.
Assist in administering medications and treatments as directed by the farm manager or veterinarian.
Monitor animal behavior and promptly report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior to the appropriate personnel.
Assist with the handling and restraint of animals during veterinary visits or other necessary procedures.
Participate in the maintenance of accurate records, such as animal health records, feeding schedules, and any other relevant documentation.
Support in organizing and maintaining animal care supplies and equipment.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the animals.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with animals, preferably on a farm or in a similar setting, is desired.
Availability to work on weekends is essential for this position.
Knowledge and understanding of animal care practices, including feeding, handling, and basic healthcare.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Excellent observational skills and attention to detail to detect any changes in animal behavior or health.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the farm team and report any concerns.
Basic record-keeping skills to maintain accurate documentation related to animal care.
A genuine passion for animal welfare and a compassionate approach to their care.

Note: This is a part-time position specifically focused on weekend duties for animal care. Hours needed are: Monday 10am-2pm, Wednesday 10am-2PM and Saturday and Sunday 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm.
