Description
Essential Functions of PositionReview and complete department Safety, Production and Quality reports dailyConfirm paw product leaving department is accurately weighed and is ready for shipping department to receive for loading on trucks and shipping to customersConfirm raw poultry meets HACCP and GMP standards as it enters cold water chilling system.
Comply with written plant policies.
Ensures that supervisors are monitoring attendance and behavior of employees and acting as needed in accordance with company policies.
Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policiesEnsure employees and supervisors are following the written specification for packaging and labeling of products.
Coordinate orders with production demands and supply.Physically inspect products for both naturally occurring and processing defects.
Naturally occurring defects would include but not limited to deformity, bruising in excess, infection, discoloration, and abscessProcessing defects would include but not limited to foreign material bones, extraneous material, feathers, broken miscuts, etc.
React appropriately to any reports of suspicious or abnormal situations from employees and management.Abnormal situation would be:
Product tamperingWillful product adulterationUnauthorized employees in restricted areasEquipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stakeJob Qualifications3-5 years leadership experience in 1st processing preferredBachelor's Degree in Poultry Science, Food Science, Management or related industry experienceAbility to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified constraintsAbility to create and maintain a safe work environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical DemandsFrequent standingRepetitive use of handsMust have the ability to bend, stoop and climb steps in organic conditionsWork EnvironmentMust be able to withstand hot, cold, and wet environmentsPosition Type and HoursFull time night positionMay require off-shift and weekend workEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
