Department Overview
The Clean Energy Transportation (CET) group is focused on accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles in California and has an ambitious goal of electrifying 3 million vehicles by 2030.
CET leads a ~$0.5B portfolio of transportation electrification (TE) programs to increase the adoption of clean vehicles in California as we work to address one of the largest contributors to climate change - and we need a motivated, organized strategic thinker to help us expand this portfolio.
We serve PG&E's customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure, reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, educating our customers and pursuing innovative strategies to unlock additional benefits to
EVdrivers and the grid.
Position Summary
The Principal Program Manager will be responsible for establishing core processes and laying the foundation for the launch of our Transportation Electrification Advisory Services programs.
This is a temporary position, lasting approximately 6-8 months.Team Overview:
PG&E believes that if properly managed, EVs can provide a quadruple value stack of reliability, resiliency, affordability, and lower GHG emissions for the grid and for our customers.
The first step in achieving that vision is facilitating the transition to electric vehicles for our customers by simplifying the process, educating customers on the benefits of EVs, and connecting customers to available resources and incentives.
CET's
EVCustomer Programs team designs and implements PG&E's electric vehicle program portfolio, ensuring that these programs serve PG&E's customers equitably, efficiently, and affordably while enabling the achievement of ambitious clean energy transportation adoption goals.
The Principal Program Manager will be responsible standing up our upcoming advisory services programs aimed at providing comprehensive guidance for customers throughout their TE journey to enable the electrification of medium-and-heavy duty fleet vehicles.
The advisory services will include information and resources related to site selection, fleet electrification planning, rate selection, load management, vehicle to grid integrations, and everything in between.
The program will rely heavily on internal cross collaboration efforts with Business Energy Solutions Account Reps, Service Planning and Design, Distribution Planning, Vehicle to Grid Implementation, Marketing, and IT.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, results driven, has fleet electrification experience, or program/product management expertise, and values customer centric approaches in developing tools and resources.
Job Responsibilities
o Conduct research on existing TE Advisory programs to determine best practices and develop coordination strategies for programs within PG&E service territory
o Develop project and milestone timelines and trackers
o Work with CET PMO team to develop dashboards to track Key Performance Indicators
o Set-up and coordinate cross-collaboration channels to advance cross-functional workstreams
o Flesh out offerings based on TEAS and TEF TA program decisions including making updates to web tools, standing up internal processes
o Conduct customer interviews to gather feedback and iterate on program design
o Develop workflows and serve as the Salesforce and IT point of contact for the development of program applications
o Develops Requests for Proposals and leads solicitation process
o Communicate project scope and progress, through written and oral communications, to CET leadership team, internal stakeholders, and customers
o Can differentiate between different audiences and creates content accordingly
o Build effective working relationships across PG&E and external organizations to deliver solutions to complex problems that arise during project implementation.
