    Description


    Byerly Aviation is Hiring General Aviation Avionics Technicians and InstallersSuccessful incumbents are responsible for all the electronics aboard an aircraft as well as the wiring that connects to the electrical system.

    They run cables, mount antennas, and connect instruments for navigation and engine monitoring as well as installing new and used systems.

    Successful incumbents must possess a valid driver's license, submit to drug & alcohol screening requirements, and submit to an airport security background check.

    Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components or assemblies, using hand tools and/or soldering ironsAssemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, using hand tools and soldering ironsConnect components to assemblies such as radio systems, instruments, magnetos, inverters, and in-flight refueling systems, using hand tools and soldering ironsInstall electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, and/or soldering ironsInterpret flight test data in order to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problemsLay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as blueprints, manuals, and wiring diagramsTest and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmetersAssemble prototypes or models of circuits, instruments, and systems so that they can be used for testingCoordinate work with that of engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnelFabricate parts and test aids as requiredKeep records of maintenance and repair workOperate computer-aided drafting and design applications to design avionics system modificationsSet up and operate ground support and test equipment to perform functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systemsQualifications for Avionics TechnicianAbility to think critically and problem solve; the ability to determine what causes a complex problem and determine solutions or options with possible fixesBe able to discern varying situations and problems, including judgment, logic and reasoning, help technicians figure out the best repair optionBe detail-oriented to adjust airplane systems and controls to exact specificationsEffectively communicate descriptions of problems and optionsValid certificate as a mechanic with an airframe rating by the FAABe able to speak, read, write, and understand EnglishPreferably 18 Months of work experienceCandidates must have a strong background and work history performing avionics repairs, installations, and modifications on general aviation piston singles, twins, turboprops and light jets.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

    The employee is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
