Overview:

Del-Co's Intern program provides each student with valuable real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring in a unique industry.

Working in our Engineering department, you will gain first-hand experience in assisting with the design, planning, inspection, and construction of waterline extensions, relocation, replacement, and development projects along with other capital improvement projects.

Essential Duties:

• Assigned engineering tasks.
• Assist with site inspections.
• Assist with project administration.
• Review water system design plans prepared by others for county, ODOT, or other government agencies.?
• Correspond with property owners informing them of construction projects, occasionally take part in on-site meetings, and to acquire right of way easements as needed. ?
• Research deed and property information at public records agency.
• Provide construction inspection and resolve minor field issues as they arise. Maintain proper records during design and construction.
• Assist in the collection of GPS data on waterline and appurtenances.?
• Review and report on project status.
• Inspect post-construction site to ensure quality property restoration.
• Perform or assist in field surveys as needed.
• Any other necessary duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Required :

• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact on a professional level with co-workers and Del-Co customers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be detail orientated and well organized.
• A sense of eagerness and the ability to take initiative and prioritize.
• A valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operators license and an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to perform manual labor and work in adverse weather conditions.

Desired :

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or educational training in a subject related to civil, chemical, mechanical or environmental engineering, or other related field.
• Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
