    The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Alabama invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August 16th, 2024.

    Detailed Position Information


    The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Alabama invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August 16th, 2024.

    This is a nine-month, non-tenure-earning position with a contract of one year.


    Responsibilities:


    The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level courses in physical education teacher education (sport pedagogy) and meet the needs for service in the department, college, university and the community.


    The Department of Kinesiology has 12 tenure track and 7 clinical (non-tenure track renewable contract) faculty and has focus areas in Physical Education and Exercise Science leading to BS, MA, and PhD degrees.

    Physical education (sport pedagogy) undergraduate and graduate coursework leads to initial and advanced teacher certification.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Earned doctorate in Physical Education Teacher Education, or related field (ABD will be considered)
