DSHS WSH Pharmacy Technician 2

Join the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) as a Pharmacy Technician 2 and make a positive impact within our community. In this role you are responsible for procuring pharmaceuticals, medication-related supplies and equipment. This opportunity is a non-permanent role.

Some of what you'll do:

Evaluate and monitor drug usage data and determine stock levels
Perform daily controlled substance fill
Maintain controlled substance drug inventory and manage records
Re-order quantities needed on a daily basis
Anticipate and respond to potential medication shortages
Monitor for outdated medications and expired medications
Perform cost comparisons and prepare payment for invoices
Fill, assemble and deliver medications
Prepare medications for oral, intravenous, rectal, and topical administration
Process expired and returned medications for destruction
Receive new inventory
Process order requests to the pharmacy warehouse for restocking and replenishing the medication in the pharmacy unit
Package and distribute medication using pharmaceutical software and equipment

What we are looking for:

Knowledge of hospital, state, and federal standards, policies and procedures
Competency and accuracy in computer data entry
Knowledge of Pyxis
Knowledge of BD Controlled Substance safe
Ability to communicate effectively with management, peers and supply vendors

Who should apply?

Professionals with a valid Washington State Pharmacy Technician Certification and 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1. Hospital experience is desired.
