    Description

    What to expect on a given day as a Special Events Coordinator:
    • You will ensure all donor cultivation and fundraising events are developed and executed with the mission in mind and delivered in a collaborative, effective manner that honors deadlines and stays within the established budgets.
    • You will plan organizational fundraising events including event planning, logistics, development, execution, and volunteer coordination.
    • You will coordinate and provide direction to the external event planner, organize the event committee, and ensure revenue goals for the event are met in cooperation with the broader team.
    • You will plan and execute donor-centric events in collaboration with contracted vendors, planning committee, and staff that meets fundraising targets and stays within budget.
    • This position is responsible for:
      • The Rocket Ball annual gala
      • Guardian Society donor appreciation events
      • Donor stewardship and cultivation events (dinners, cocktail receptions, lunches)
      • Community stakeholder events
      • Volunteer events
      • Major education and training events
      • Holiday projects/in-kind donations
      • Clothing for a Cause
    You would be a good fit for this position if you:
    • Have a bachelor's degree or a minimum of three years' experience of successful event coordination.
    • Have at least 3 years' proven experience in fundraising work; experience and/or familiarity with fundraising in human services is desired but not required.
    • Have experience evaluating contracts, venues, and vendors.
    • Are able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, communication skills, project management skills, and superior attention to detail.
    • Can be flexible and adapt to changing needs and time pressures, particularly as logistics and plans develop.
    • Are able to prioritize tasks and balance multiple priorities.
    • Have the ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with all levels of the agency - internal and external.
    • Are a creative thinker and solutions finder, helping solve logistical problems.
    • Have experience with database software and/or customer relationship management (CRM) preferred; experience with Raisers Edge is desired but not required.
    • Are available to work some evenings and weekends for special events, as discussed and planned.
