Position Summary
The Senior Human Resources Generalist provides day‑to‑day HR support for the Medevio manufacturing facility in Dorado, Puerto Rico. This includes hands‑on delivery of payroll and benefits support, staffing coordination, policy administration, employee relations intake and investigations, performance and rewards cycle support, and compliance. The Senior Human Resources Generalist works closely with the US HR team, the Regional HR Service Center, and local site leadership to ensure consistent and timely HR service delivery for a site of approximately 100 associates across multiple shifts. The Senior Human Resources Generalist reports to the VP, Human Resources (US) and has no direct reports.
This is an onsite position, five‑days‑per-week, in our Dorado, Puerto Rico location.
What You'll Do Every Day:
HR Administration
- Partners with the regional HR Service center to ensure effective and efficient benefits and payroll administration.
- Maintain and introduce policies for the site.
- Administers salary structures and may participate in special compensation studies based on local market values.
- Assist managers in developing job descriptions consistent with good job design practices.
Staffing
- Works with hiring supervisors and managers to assess staffing requirements; develop cost effective recruiting strategies; screen applicants; and make appropriate hiring and offer recommendations.
- Partners with the Talent Acquisition function, staff jobs in a timely, cost-effective manner with high quality candidates, consistent with company policies and practices and legal considerations.
- Coordinate and improve the selection and onboarding process for contractor staff, including, agency relationships, screening, performance management and conversion to Medevio employee.
Employee Relations
- Facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Counsel managers or employees consistent with Medevio policies/practices, legal considerations, etc.
- Conduct internal investigations relating to employee conduct and behavior.
Employee Development & Engagement
- Partner with site leadership team to continue to build credibility and develop trusted relationships.
- Help identify and develop innovative incentive/reward systems that address business needs.
- Consult managers and employees on training and development needs. Identify group and individual development needs.
- Facilitate activities to improve employee engagement in coordination with site leadership team and employee feedback.
Other
- May serve as functional and/or business representative on site leadership team, Global HR committees or task forces.
- May need to travel up to 10%.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive human resources experience, including payroll processing, staffing/recruiting, benefits administration, HRIS systems, employee relations, and over HR administration.
- Certification of Human Resources Management a plus.
- Working knowledge of HR administrative requirements pertaining to OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, EEO, ADA, Unemployment, and Workers' Compensation.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local (Puerto Rico) laws and regulations that impact human resources and the employment relationship.
- Demonstrated knowledge of change management a plus
- Fully Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Ability to travel outside of Puerto Rico (<10%)
