    The Chatham Group Advanced Materials and Technologies Recruiting Team is seeking highly qualified and ambitious candidates for the role of Mechanical Project Engineer for a client in the Redding, California area.

    Our client is a global leader in the insulation products and solutions market space as well as the fastest growing insulation manufacturer in North America.

    They are committed to the sustainable development of a comprehensive line of fiberglass insulations for use in building applications be it residential, industrial, commercial, marine, etc.

    They are committed to the development of insulation technologies using post-consumer recycled waste materials and are seeking candidates who share the values of environmental conservation and ecological sustainability.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have a B.S. or M.S.

    degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another highly relevant engineering discipline, as well as roughly 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.


    Responsibilities and Duties:
    Apply your knowledge of engineering principles in order to design and develop products for the sustainable insulation industry

    Provide installation and maintenance support for new and existing plant equipment including providing technical support to plant staff and engineering contractors

    Determine the scope, scheduling, and budgeting of various plant improvement projects to improve product quality, mechanical reliability, and reduce process waste

    Work with vendors and contractors to implement projects with appropriate budgeting and time constraints

    Support the plant technical drawing database but making appropriate updates to existing drawings and drafting new drawings as needed

    Work crossfunctionally with the maintenance and reliability engineering teams in order to troubleshoot equipment and minimize plant production downtime

    Support both the mechanical and maintenance teams on engineering equipment projects including rebuilds and new installations

    Provide de-bottlenecking support for mechanical process control issues


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other highly relevant engineering discipline

    Roughly 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in insulation fabrication

    Experience with compressed air, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, pump systems, conveying systems and other rotating equipment (such as gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, etc.) preferred, as well as structural steel

    Experience with engineering drafting and design software such as AutoDesk or Solidworks products

    Experience managing capital projects

    Relocation assistance will be provided and compensation will be commensurate with background experience.
