    Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Fellow Software Engineer/Network opportunity located at the Savannah River Site.

    Work Location: Aiken, SC

    Fellow Software Engineer/Network -

    Duties:
    • Design, implement, and secure computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
    • Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures.
    • Optimize network performance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, topologies, and procedures.
    • Evaluate and select vendors for network equipment and services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to network security and data privacy.
    Responsibilities:
    • Designing Network Infrastructure: Develop and design scalable, secure, and reliable network architectures that meet the organization's current and future needs.
    • Network Planning and Strategy: Create strategic plans for network infrastructure development, including capacity planning, and network optimization. Plan for continual future network infrastructure upgrade cycles.
    • Implementation and Deployment: Oversee the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
    • Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the network from cyber threats, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
    • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize network performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
    • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, topologies, and procedures.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, cybersecurity experts, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other IT systems.
    • Vendor Management: Evaluate and select vendors for network equipment and services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to network security and data privacy.
    • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level support for network-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
    Education:
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
    • Certifications CCIE and/or CCDE equivalent.
    Required Experience/Skills:
    • Fifteen (15) years of experience in network engineering and administration, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
    • Experience with secure integration of Industrial Control System (ICS) networks with enterprise business networks and network architecture design.
    • Proficient in networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Encryptions, VLANs, routing and switching. Experience with network monitoring and management tools is also essential.
    • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewall configuration, access control, encryption, and vulnerability management.
    • Ability to analyze complex network requirements and propose innovative solutions to meet business needs.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues quickly and efficiently.
    • Experience managing network infrastructure projects from conception to completion, including resource planning, scheduling, and budget management.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues from diverse technical backgrounds.
    • Willingness to stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in network architecture and security.
    Preferred Experience:
    • Experience with multi-domain systems.
