    Description

    Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC a world class supplier of power generation services, parts and repairs, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.

    In the role, the manual machinist will apply knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set-up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts.

    Requirements

    Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
    • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
    • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work.
    • Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
    • Read work orders and/or production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, location of cutting lines, and dimension and tolerances.
    • Set-up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
    • Start and run machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
    • Adjust machine speeds and actions, according to product specifications.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, working environment.
    • Support other areas of the shop as needed.
    Position Requirements:
    • 3+ years experience with Lathes, Mills and Bridgeport's - VTL experience a plus
    • Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operation within area
    • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objectives
    • Ability to read and use related quality tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators and tape measures
    • Good organizational skills
    • Understanding of lean and 6S safety in a manufacturing environment
    • Basic computer skills

    • Involves exposure to noise levels that may require hearing protection
    • Preventative protection gear required (steel toed boots, glove, safety glasses)
    • Uniforms are provided.
    • Our hours are subject to the needs of our customers, overtime and weekends will be required
    Salary & Benefits:
    • Competitive pay - $30.00 +/hour plus based on experience.
    • Shift premium paid for second shift.
