Production Superintendent - Walnut Grove, United States - Peco Foods

Description

Supervise all processing employees (approx and salaried supervisors.
Verify weekly payroll time sheets for all employees in the department.

Be responsible for daily paperwork such as but not limited to:
absentee sheets, vacation requests, and disciplinary action forms.
Comply with all written corporate and plant policies.
Be familiar with the various types of machinery in the 2nd processing area.
Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
Follow the written specification for packaging and labeling of products.
Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.

Natural occurring defects would be not limited to:
deformity, bruising in excess, infection, discoloration, abscess.

Processing defects would be but not limited to:
FM, bones, extraneous material (to include fecal matter), feathers, broken/mis-cut, missed heads, torn, fat levels, etc.
Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.


Abnormal situation would be:
Product tamperingWillful product adulterationUnauthorized employees in restricted areasSituation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurringEquipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stakeQualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in production environment1-3 years leadership experience, preferably in a supervisory role in the poultry industryBachelor's Degree preferredStrong computer skills requiredStrong presentation skills requiredAbility to multi-task & set priorities

Physical Demands:
Working in a warm/dusty/wet/cold environment.
Standing / walking 100% of the workday.
Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
