Data Analysis and Exploration:
You will be responsible for using data analytics to inform decision making and drive business results.
Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Carrying out cleaning and preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.

Use quantitative skills to evaluate existing and new data sources and apply the right analytical techniques to generate significant insights about customers, products, and the business.

Expected to identify trends, opportunities, business data needed, data sources, and new methods of analytics.

Model Development, Deployment, and Monitoring:

Identify ways to use data science techniques to derive useful insights that can be incorporated into existing workflows and processes to enhance business results.

Develop predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
Create algorithms for data analysis and pattern recognition.
Fine-tune and optimize models for accuracy and performance.
Deploy models into production, monitor their performance and retrain as needed.

Data Visualization:
Create informative and visually appealing data visualizations and dashboards.
Communicate findings and insights to technical and non-technical audiences effectively.

Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and analysts to deploy data solutions.

Collaborate with business teams (Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, HR, etc.) on key business questions and develop analysis, insights, and actionable recommendations.

Research and Innovation:
Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new technologies.
Explore and propose innovative data science solutions to address business challenges.

Play a pivotal role in transforming The Fresh Market into a data-driven culture by building predictive models and extracting insights from data.

At a minimum, what you'll need:
Bachelor or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field).
5+ years of relevant working experience in data analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python, and database query languages like SQL is needed.

Knowledge and experience using machine learning methods like linear regressions, logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, deep learning, k-means clustering, SVMs, naive Bayes, and reinforcement learning.

Data Wrangling - proficiency in cleaning, structuring, and transforming raw and unprocessed data.
Strong knowledge of data manipulation and visualization Tools like Pandas, matplotlib, ggplot,
Experience using BI Platforms such as MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Tableau, etc. (MicroStrategy Preferred)

Excellent Communication Skills - it is incredibly important to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience to help inform and enable business decisions.

Preferred qualifications:
Master's or other advanced Degree in Data Science or Business Analytics preferred.
Prior retail industry experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Certified Data Scientist, Analytics Professional, BI Professional, or related certification is a plus.
