Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Department: Facilities / Operations

Reports To: Director of Clinical and Operations

Location: Top of the World Ranch (Residential SUD Treatment Campus)

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician supports the safety, comfort, and functionality of the TOTWR campus by performing routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance across residential, clinical, and administrative areas. This role helps ensure the facility remains compliant, clean, secure, and operational for clients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repairs: plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC support, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, doors/locks, and fixtures.
Complete preventative maintenance schedules (filters, belts, lubrication, seasonal checks, equipment inspections).
Troubleshoot issues and respond to maintenance requests in a timely, customer-service-oriented manner.
Conduct routine facility rounds to identify hazards, safety issues, and repair needs; document and report findings.
Support life-safety readiness: emergency lighting checks, fire extinguisher checks (visual), exit signage, and coordination with vendors for inspections/repairs as required.
Maintain grounds and exterior areas as needed: light landscaping, debris removal, snow/ice mitigation, minor fence/gate repairs.
Assist with room turns and general campus readiness (beds/furniture moves, minor refurbishments, deep-clean support coordination).
Coordinate with outside vendors/contractors; escort on-site as needed; help verify work completion.
Track work orders, parts usage, and supplies; communicate status updates to leadership/staff.
Follow infection control, safety practices, and confidentiality requirements consistent with a healthcare/treatment environment.
Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours response (if applicable).

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma/GED.
2+ years of facility maintenance experience (residential, healthcare, commercial, or campus setting preferred).
Working knowledge of basic maintenance trades (plumbing/electrical/carpentry/HVAC support).
Valid driver's license; ability to operate basic tools and equipment safely.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in a behavioral health/SUD setting.

Preferred

Trade certification(s) or apprenticeship experience.
Experience with work-order systems and preventative maintenance programs.
Familiarity with safety/life-safety expectations in healthcare/residential environments.

Physical Requirements

Regular lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working indoors/outdoors in varying weather.
Ability to walk campus grounds and perform repetitive tasks safely.
