    APEL Extrusions is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions serving the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States. With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and a new, greenfield facility in Phoenix Arizona, APEL Extrusions is a fully integrated extruder with six extrusion presses, (2 in Calgary and 3 in Oregon and 1 in Phoenix) and a full array of finishing capabilities occupying over 600,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 250 people.

    APEL Extrusions has an immediate requirement for a qualified Sales Manager in its new Phoenix, Arizona facility.

    Reporting to the President, the Sales Manager will be responsible for managing existing accounts, prospecting for new customers, quoting new opportunities and increasing sales volumes and Company profitability in the SW United States (AZ, CA, NM, NV).

    Nature and Scope:
    • The Sales Manager is APEL's principle point of contact in the marketplace and as such the position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, excellent written and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively with Customers and at all levels in the APEL Organization.
    • Up to 30% travel will be required, with some overnight stays required. (West Coast).
    • The Sales Manager will participate as key member of the APEL Sales and Marketing Team in establishing Sales Strategy, Pricing Methodologies, Service Objectives and Operational deliverables, for all APEL's West Coast Operations.
    • This is a key Management role and the Sales Manager's skills, input, and efforts will be required and solicited on a multitude of APEL initiatives.
    General Duties are to:
    • Work to develop and maintain exceptional relationships with both current and potential customers.
    • Develop and maintain strong, open, relationships with APEL Customer Service members.
    • Work with the President and the Sales Management Team to:
      1. Establish sales objectives through Customer communications, forecasting and development of an annual sales plan for the territories and the Company.
      2. Establish, maintain, and manage selling prices by monitoring profitability, costs, and the competitive environment.
    • Generate and prospect customer leads through referrals, cold calling, and market research.
    • Qualify potential new customers for APEL fit and creditworthiness.
    • Proactively work to ensure all customers meet APEL terms and conditions.
    • Work with Operations and New Product Development (NPD) to offer shape design assistance with the goal of successful production through all APEL departments.
    • Expedite the resolution of problems and complaints to both APEL's and the Customer's satisfaction.
    • Reporting of Sales Statistics / Sales Activities as required.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    From a professional experience perspective, the ideal Candidate will have:
    • A proven record of Sales management success working in a fast paced, customer focused, manufacturing, or similar, environment.
    • Excellent math, English, and presentation skills working in a MS Office Environment.
    • Understanding of Engineering Drawings, Material Specifications and Pricing models.
    Compensation:

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree, technical education, or combinations of equivalence.
    • Concentration in Marketing, Business, or Engineering is preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience working in a fast paced, manufacturing, process, or distribution type environment.
    • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office is required.
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Sales or related experience working in the aluminum extrusion and aluminum finishing industry.
