    Director, Sponsored Programs and Research

    Job Summary:


    The Director is responsible for working with faculty and deans on program needs and assisting in the identification of potential funding sources, coordination of the preparation, submission, and review of selected grant proposals, and providing internal communication to the academic community regarding grant opportunities.

    The Director assists in the communication with funding agencies and in the development of policies for sponsored projects. The Director maintains Marist's accounts with the federal government's central systems of award administration and related government electronic systems.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 5-8 years of relevant experience

    Essential Functions:

    • Monitors and researches various government, foundation. and industry publications for potential grant funding sources and notifies faculty and staff of prospective funds for research and development.
    • Coordinates grant preparation for new programs and the expansion of existing programs by overseeing proposal preparation and budget development as well as assembly and submission of applications.
    • Reviews proposals for completeness. competitiveness, and compliance with institutional and agency policies.
    • Advises the administration on policy development needs to ensure compliance with government statues and new regulations.
    • Maintains electronic databases that enable communication with federal agencies.
    • Assists faculty and staff in contacts with external agencies.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity - Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.

    Benefits:


    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
    • College pays 100% tuition only.
    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.
    • Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the College.

    The Office of Sponsored Programs provides assistance to full-time faculty and academic administrators interested in securing grant awards for research, curriculum development, and other creative activities relevant to the College's academic mission.

    Office staff assist faculty members and academic staff in answering your questions about grants, locating funding sources, obtaining and interpreting application forms, developing proposal narratives and budgets, and securing institutional support and approvals.
