    Access to the money you have earned, but haven#t been paid yet Job Overview Deaconess Dietitians are responsible for providing nutritional care for all patients of the hospital.

    The dietitian manages nutritional care on assigned units with a major portion of time spent in individual patient assessment and instruction.

    #Identifies at-risk patients and/or receiving physician consult order. #Provides nutritional assessment. #Determines any food/drug interactions. #Provides nutritional education to patient/family members #Provides nutritional continuity of care by following up as appropriate. #Completes assessment for patients identified per nursing screen at high nutritional risk.

    #Develops and implements plan of care based on assessment of nutritional needs and available sources, and correlates plan with other healthcare personnel.

    #Consults with physician and other healthcare personnel, as appropriate, recommending patient#s nutritional needs. #Documents nutrition care plans and information into patient#s medical record.

    #Maintains tube feeding formulary by evaluating products, recommending product changes, communicating changes, and inservicing appropriate personnel on the proper use of the new product.

    #Formulates menus for therapeutic diets based on medical and physical condition of patients and integrates patients# menus with basic institutional menus.

    #Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. #Possess ability to assess and interpret data reflective of the patient#s status to identify each patient#s requirements. #Provide the care needed as described in the department#s policies and procedures, i.e., Standards of Care. #Attends appropriate intra- and inter-departmental meetings, inservices, and care conferences. #Documents appropriately in patient#s medical record and in accordance with the Standards of Care.
    Other duties as assigned #Aids in the development and update of diet material, menus, and Standards of Care. #Conducts both inter- and intra-departmental inservices as needed. #Guest lectures in the community. #Involved with teaching/assessing outpatients and Home Healthcare patients.

    #Provides consultative services with affiliated Hospitals and clinics (i.e., Deaconess Cross Pointe, Pediatric Specialty Clinic, Wound Clinic, Weight Loss Solutions Clinic, The Women#s Hospital, etc.) #Involvement in care path and CQI teams.

    #Participates in the Hospital QAPI program. What You Will Need #Bachelor#s degree from an accredited institution. #Completion of an approved internship or C.D.P. program. #Credentialed by American Dietetic Association or registry eligible. # #
