- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of information system security program policies with a focus on integrating existing SAP network infrastructures.
- Develop operational information systems security policies and guidelines based on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG) authorization process.
- Provide advice on Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization matters.
- Conduct risk assessments and offer recommendations to DoD agency clients.
- Advise government program managers on security testing methodologies and processes.
- Evaluate authorization documentation and provide written recommendations for government program managers' authorization.
- Establish and maintain a formal Information Systems Security Program.
- Ensure that all cyber security personnel receive required technical and security training.
- Develop security assessment plans and execute them to verify the necessary features for each protection level.
- Maintain a repository for system authorization documentation and modifications.
- Implement a Configuration Control Board (CCB) charter.
- Develop incident response policies and procedures, including investigating and reporting security violations and incidents.
- Assess threats and vulnerabilities to determine the need for additional safeguards.
- Conduct periodic security posture assessments of authorization boundaries.
- Ensure proper documentation of security-relevant changes to software, hardware, and firmware.
- Conduct regular security testing using intrusion/attack detection and monitoring tools.
- Ensure system recovery and reconstitution processes are in place and monitored for availability.
- Keep all authorization documentation current and accessible to authorized individuals.
- Address system security requirements throughout the system life cycle.
- Develop Assured File Transfers (AFT) in accordance with the JSIG.
- Participate in self-inspections.
- Act as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) when needed.

The Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) role plays a key advisory role on all technical and security matters related to information systems. The primary responsibility includes providing support within Special Access Programs (SAPs) for various Department of Defense (DoD) agencies like HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. This position involves daily support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years)
CLEARANCE:
• TS/SCI
• Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph
MANDATORY:
• 7-9 years related experience; Prior performance in roles such as ISSO or ISSM; SAP experience; DoD M IAM Level II (in lieu of IAT Level II)
COMPENSATION:
Negotiable up to $68.73/hr
