    Description

    Nuclear Medicine Technologist

    Competently performs routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.

    The successful candidate will work independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.

    Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.

    Ensures adherence to local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

    • Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine examinations.
    • Operates complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment.
    • Prepares for and assists physicians in nuclear medicine diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
    • Explains and educates patients on procedures, medications, or contrast media.
    • Mentors students and new technologists to build confidence in their skills and abilities.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Academic degree in Nuclear Medicine or Radiography accredited by a recognized organization.

    Certification and Licensure:

    • RHN-Radiologic Health Nuclear Medicine certification (required in California).
    • NMT- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification.
    • ARRT(N)-Nuclear Medicine Technology certification.
    • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.

    Experience:

    • Typically requires 5 years of recent relevant experience.
