Ensures the food service provided for the community meets and/orexceeds company standards while maintaining compliance withHACCP, OSHA, state and federal regulations.

Plans weekly menus in accordance with the community policiesand procedures, and incorporates a variety of nutritional foods andfoods in seasonMaintains an adequate inventory of foods and supplies fromcompany approved vendorsContinues to look for ways to improve and/or enhance the qualityof the food service providedPrepares and cooks food in accordance with nutritional guidelines,regulations, and residents individual prescribed diets and foodpreferencesEnsures that food is prepared and served in an appetizing andappealing mannerAssists in fostering residents independence with eating by takingthe time to know the residents and providing adaptive equipmentwhen neededEnsures that food is delivered on timeVisits with the residents at each meal when able to ensure qualityof service.

Ensures that all concerns will be addressedPrepares food and coordinates food services for special communityevents when requestedEncourages residents to participate in the food service program byproviding a forum for their input and suggestionsMaintains a clean, organized and safe kitchen environmentEnsures proper storage and handling of food in accordance withinfection control standardsParticipate in the recruitment and hiring of food service associatesParticipate in training of all associates, including food serviceassociates, in safety issues, emergency situations, infection controland safe practicesSupervises all food service associates ensuring adequate staffingmeeting the needs of the community2Ensures that all food staff abide by sanitation and safetyregulations and perform their duties as required and expectedConduct regular performance appraisals with associatesEnsure appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries as reported byassociatesPerforms Manager On Duty responsibilities when assignedThe ability to work in a safe and alert mannerThe ability to take ownership for associates safety and the safety ofthe residentsMust disclose any medication that might impair associates ability toperform the job safely or competently.
