    The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Senior Education Program Manager in the Judicial College. The Senior Education Program will develop, implement and administer Judicial College curricula for judges, magistrates, and/or court personnel, and/or other audiences as assigned.

    What You'll Do:

    Plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate live and/or online education for judges and magistrates, court personnel and/or other audiences as assigned; conduct education needs assessments for specific target populations; facilitate and design courses and curriculum with appropriate planning committees; conduct planning meetings and introduces courses; select faculty; prepare course announcements; coordinate course materials; transport instructional materials and equipment to face-to-face program.

    Supervise Education Program Manager(s), Learning Management Systems Administrator, or Program Coordinator(s); train, coach, and mentor; review work for accuracy and compliance with court rules and office policy; conduct performance evaluations; recommend improvements and changes to processes and practices to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of the Judicial College's function; collaborate with College leadership regarding strategy, staffing, and resources requirements.

    Design online self-study education from inception to completion, done collaboratively.

    Develop and manage courses and implements curriculum for targeted audiences; estimate costs and monitors expenses; manage grants and other financial resources to ensure they are consistent with plans; analyze trends and makes projections for future financial requirements.

    Negotiate faculty fees and works with Judicial Services staff to prepare related contracts.

    Effectively use technological education tools such as laptops, computer applications, multimedia projectors and presentation tools (eg, PowerPoint and polling software, still and moving pictures, flip charts); sets up, and tests equipment, trouble-shoots, solves minor equipment problems.

    Transport and assembles all A/V at courses offered outside of the Judicial Center.

    Utilize instruments to obtain participant evaluation of program content and faculty performance; compiles, reviews, and analyzes evaluation results; informs Judicial College Director of evaluation results; incorporates results into future program planning.

    Deliver courses using webcast facilities and distance learning software as appropriate.

    Apply adult education theory and practice to curriculum development, course planning, and faculty development responsibilities.

    Attend workshops, seminars and/or professional meetings. Review books and/or publications to update and improve own knowledge & skills pertaining to instructional design, instructional technology and related fields; prepares & maintains records & files; prepare correspondence and reports; make travel arrangements; answer inquiries regarding Judicial College policies, procedures and events; respond to inquiries and complaints by telephone, in writing, or electronically; coordinate special projects as assigned.

    Participate in regional and national associations that relate to the program managed; serves on committees; serves as liaison with other agencies or institutions.

    What we're looking for:

    Completion of undergraduate core program in instructional design, adult learning, education, instructional technology, business or public administration or related field or equivalent. An advanced degree in education, law or related field strongly preferred.

    Requires two years experience and significant expertise in preparing and delivering instructional programs for adults using adult learning theories and instructional design methods to develop face-to-face and electronic education (eg, self-study online courses, webinars, blended approaches). Requires demonstrated skills and experience with design to delivery including needs assessments, ability to write learning objectives, assist faculty with building out content and selecting teaching methods, to delivery and evaluation. Experience in a legal environment preferred.

    If supervising E-learning course developers, requires demonstrated proficiency developing asynchronous E-learning content which includes; experience with Shared Content Object Reference Model ("SCORM") development for LMS deployment; expert proficiency with Articulate Storyline, video editing (eg, Adobe Premiere or similar software), and other tools necessary to develop asynchronous online education.

    Requires ability to lead and work effectively with subject matter experts and committees.

    Requires proficiency with delivering education via web conference facilitator tools. Prefer familiarity with E-learning authoring tools. Requires knowledge of design and storyboarding steps and techniques needed to develop online courses that will reside in a learning management system.

    Ability to organize workflow to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and accomplish tasks with follow-through to completion.

    Prior management and supervisory responsibility are strongly preferred.

    May work flexible hours; some courses will require travel and overnight stays.

    Requires the ability to interact with supervisor, co-workers, judges, justices, attorneys, other court personnel and/or the public with a professional attitude and demeanor.

    Requires the ability to exercise judgment and creativity in evaluating information and making sound decisions.

    Requires excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Requires the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact productively with others and establish positive rapport and relations. Requires the ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external constituencies.
