Overview
Provides coding and billing support. Assists with educating physicians, management, support staff and administration. Identifies possible revenue opportunities. Codes office, hospital, nursing home, surgery and/or procedures as directed for specific practices.

Responsibilities
Assist A/R staff with coding questions.
Assist in the development and delivery of one-on-one and group education/training classes.
Audit office charges for specified practices to evaluate a provider-s understanding of AMA/CMS documentation guidelines. Document findings from the review and provide written report to Coding Support Manager. Code charges for specific practices
Maintain a working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD -10 CPT, HCPCS guidelines and policies. Maintain a working knowledge of AMA and CMS documentation guidelines. Attend educational sessions and read publications to stay up to date on changes regarding AMA and CMS documentation guidelines.
Notify Compliance department of any compliance violations that are discovered during the review process.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, Required
EXPERIENCE:1-2 years, Required
1 to 2 years coding experience required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
PREFERRED
One of the following certifications is required: CPC, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA. Will also accept CPC-A; full licensure must be obtained within two (2) years of date of hire.
