    Our Facilities Design team is seeking an Electrical Engineer, EIT to perform research, provide analysis, design and document cost effective code compliant electrical systems for Publix retail facilities In Facilities Design, the Electrical Engineer, EIT produces electrical design related to new stores and special projects while relying on knowledge of building codes, specifications, lighting, and power design methods.

    Additional responsibilities include:
    participating in the design and production of electrical engineering construction documents for new prototypes and site-specific projects
    overseeing the development of the electrical construction documents to meet Publix objectives and all national, state, and local code requirements
    modifying prototypical designs to meet site specific requirements, modifying prototypical Publix designs to adopt to a specific site
    modifying store drawings to meet retail requests
    evaluating and completing revisions to construction drawings

    Year End Bonus


    As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year.

    This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) from an ABET accredited college or university
    two (2) years of electrical engineering (design of commercial buildings, electrical systems) experience
    EI/EIT certification or willingness to obtain within 180 days of being hired
    knowledge in the use of CADD (AutoCAD or Revit) and other specialized design software as required
    knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
    knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards in electrical design as it pertains to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards with an emphasis on the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
    willingness to work occasional nights, weekends, or holidays in order to meet project deadlines
    willingness to travel, including overnight

    Preferred Qualifications

    Four years (4) of electrical engineering (design of commercial buildings, electrical systems) experience within the retail grocery industry
    knowledge of the Publix design process and standards
    knowledge of retail grocery operations and equipment
