    Registered Nurse (RN) Hematology/Oncology - Outpatient


    Setting:
    Outpatient


    Shift:
    Day shifts

    Schedule: 30 and 32 hour roles available


    Job Requirements:
    Registration and current RN licensure in the state of MA.
    Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
    Bio/chemo certificate required within 1 month of hire.
    ONS chemotherapy provider card within 60 days of hire, OCN preferred, must obtain within 2 years.
    Minimum 1 year experience, 2 years preferred in hematology/oncology.
    Previous experience in hematology/oncology triage, surgical oncology, transplants, stem cell transplants, or amyloidosis preferred.
    Recent port access, peripheral IV insertion, and clinical assessment skills preferred.
    Additional certifications may be required for certain practice areas.


    Responsibilities/Duties:
    Utilize nursing process for timely, safe, and patient-centered care.
    Administer injections, triage phone calls, handle prescription refills, and work closely with providers.
    Prioritize calls based on clinical acuity, determine severity, and provide health information.
    Collaborate with the healthcare team, ensuring quality care and patient satisfaction.
    Provide patient teaching, counseling, and document information in electronic health record systems.
    Conduct in-office procedures, patient vitals, medication reconciliation, and health histories.
    Evaluate patient progress and perform Nurse Only visits for specific procedures.
    Other related duties as required.


    Knowledge and Skills:
    Basic computer proficiency for data access and interpretation.
    Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
    Multilingual skills preferred.
    Relevant clinical experience and certification in specific areas.
    Analytical ability for problem-solving and research projects.
    Ability to delegate patient care activities and manage stress.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
    Knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
    Customer service skills and time management.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
