    Position Summary:

    Provide administrative support to the Indirect Purchasing Department based in Durham. Supporting buyers on data collection, market research, preparation of charts, and any other administrative activities that will help Buyers prepare Category Sourcing Strategies.

    Internship is anticipated to run from May - August 2024 working an average of 40 hours a week. Intern will be required to be on side 2-3 days per week.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Buyers, including a collection of data, market research, supplier interviews, design and production of PowerPoint charts, Excel spreadsheets and graphs, and Visio Process maps..
  • Manage, by delegation, some purchasing files and tasks in a multicultural and international context, with interactions with external suppliers,
  • Maintain and update regularly various centralized purchasing files to include, but not limited to: Approved Supplier List, Purchasing Department SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), Purchasing Department Training Records, NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreements), contracts and required Supplier documentation (SAD, SSS, Iso certificates,...).
  • Run and manage periodical reports: ASL, Diversity Report, Ad hoc analysis.
  • Support buyers on researching the market regarding categories sourcing strategies, market key players and market conditions.
  • Support buyers on identifying suppliers by category, classified as Diversity suppliers.
  • Assist buyers on keeping our Contract Management Tool accuracy, running reports, monitoring expired contracts or contracts to be expired.
  • Assist buyers on SSC Meetings minutes and action plan follow up.
  • Assist buyers on spend data analysis from the punchout catalogues. Supplier Panel management through data analytics (Spend, rationalization, optimization)
  • Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Registered student in university undergraduate or graduate program required
  • Upcoming Junior or Senior level students highly preferred
    • Strong experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint highly preferred
    • Experience with using Pivot Tables highly preferred
    • Basic understanding of Sourcing & Supply Chain highly desired
    • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills
