    Wellness Health Educator Positions Available at CAPSLO



    Job Description:
    Join our team in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo to assist with the implementation of goals and objectives for the Teen Wellness Program. As a Health Educator, you will support local teens by providing health programs and educational services.

    Position Summary:
    Assist with the implementation of goals and objectives for the Teen Wellness Program.
    Required Education and Experience:
    • Health Educator I:
      • BA/BS degree in Social Science, Family Studies, Child Development, Health Education, Health Sciences, Psychology, or related field.
      • Experience working with adolescents.
      • Experience in providing health education and public speaking.
    • Health Educator II:
      • BA/BS degree in Social Science, Family Studies, Child Development, Health Education, Health Sciences, Psychology, or related field.
      • Minimum 1 year of on-the-job experience.
    • Health Educator III:
      • BA/BS degree in Social Science, Family Studies, Child Development, Health Education, Health Sciences, Psychology, or related field.
      • Minimum 1 year of on-the-job experience.
      • Must have necessary health and/or fitness certifications.
    Preferred Education and Experience:
    • Experience in providing health education and public speaking.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
    License & Certifications:
    • Must have a valid California Driver license.
    Essential Functions:
    • Wellness Health Educator I
      • Assist with the implementation of the goals and objectives for the Teen Wellness Programs.
      • Recruit and encourage students to participate in Teen Wellness activities and services.
      • Conduct wellness education for youth aged 13 to 18.
      • Provide one-on-one health coaching.
    • Health Educator II
      • Serve on relevant networks and committees.
      • Collaborate with community members and health professionals.
      • Assist in the development of new projects and programs.
    • Health Educator III
      • Participate in conferences and earn certifications.
      • Develop and implement new projects and programs.
      • Assist with grant writing and reports.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge: Computer literate with good word processing skills.
    • Skills: Excellent communication skills.
    • Abilities: Work under minimum supervision and maintain confidentiality.
