    Job Summary/Description:

    Teach first and second year sequence in undergraduate Spanish with the chance to instruct upper-division courses based on qualifications and interest. Expected course load includes five three-hour courses per semester on a nine month contract.

    Typical Duties/Job Duties:
    • Candidates must be dedicated to proficiency-based language instruction and well-versed in using ACTFL guidelines for assessing communication skills.
    • Commitment to high teaching standards, both in and out of the classroom, is essential.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills are required with a focus on creating innovative learning experiences in-person and online.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated track record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
    • Strong background and dedication to communicative foreign language teaching.
    • Relevant professional development based on experience with online teaching experience being an advantage.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • M.A. or Ph.D. in Spanish or related field.
    • Proven excellence in undergraduate teaching.
    • Strong background and dedication to foreign language teaching focusing on communication.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Preference for candidates with training in foreign language pedagogy and/or all-level teaching certification.
