    THE POSITION


    Are you a skilled tradesperson in the maintenance field who is looking for a career where you can lead and share your expertise with others? The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI), Albion is actively seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person to be a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK


    As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager for the DOC, you will be responsible for providing supervisory oversight to facility maintenance and trades staff in the performance of routine and specialized maintenance, construction, and repair tasks for the institution.

    Duties include planning, assigning, directing, and coordinating daily operations. You will determine staffing needs and priorities based on facility goals and objectives, and submit an annual department budget.

    In addition, you will provide supervisory oversight to facility maintenance and trades staff in the performance of routine and specialized maintenance, construction, and repair tasks.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    • Full-time employment, 40-hours per week
    • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Work days will be determined.
    • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
    • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $52, before taxes).

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry; or
    • Six years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
    • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
