- Identify, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of prospective and current donors to retain and increase their giving based on capacity and interests.
- Collaborate with the stewardship specialist to develop automated and unique donor journeys that address interests as well as capacity.
- Design and implement a program that increases the number of and revenue from monthly and quarterly donors. Collaborate with the marketing and communications and events teams, as well as the development coordinator, to build sustaining donor acquisition and solicitation into direct mail, promotional, and event plans.
- Analyze and report on acquisition, upgrades, and retention to continually improve strategy.
- Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.

Position Summary
The gift officer designs and implements a strategy to identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with MD SPCA donors giving $500-2,500 annually, including those involved in our recurring gift program. They implement and track the effectiveness of programs to retain new donors and strengthen existing relationships. As part of the development team, the officer shares responsibility for attaining annual and capital fundraising goals.
