- Teach a class of students including all elements of instructional planning, implementation, and assessment
- Encourage independence, decision-making, and problem-solving
- Engage in positive discipline, setting clear expectations and appropriate consequences that support the development of the whole child
- Observe, record, and document the growth and development of children through the established evaluation tool, anecdotal observations, and portfolio development
- Collaborate and maintain open communication with a co-teacher and appropriate staff members regarding issues that pertain to the well-being of children and families
- Complete report cards and other forms of academic communication in a timely, professional manner
- Pursue opportunities for professional growth on an annual basis
- Attend regular staff meetings and professional development workshops
- Perform other duties as assigned Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- At least three years of teaching experience
- A passion for working with children
- A deep commitment to the School's mission

- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with children and their families
- Follows community policies and procedures and models positive behavior

- Technologically literate and able to guide and direct students' use of technology
