Description
We have a new opportunity at our Grand Prairie TX Distribution/Manufacturing facility. We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team.
This position will be responsible for assuring productivity within assigned span of control, including the direction and management of direct reports, if applicable.
This position will also have responsibility for maintaining a safe work place. Position will have responsibility to manage any employee safety issues.
Essential Functions:
Oversees receiving and stowing, picking and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation.
Optimizes efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space.
Monitors the safety and security of goods and materials.
Utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other system to track and analyze processes and performance.
Implements strong safety polices and procedures.Leadership – Directing, guiding, and organizing warehouse supervisors. Overseeing the activities of hourly employees through supervisors.
Process Management – Coordinating and communicating outbound schedules within your department Arrange staffing to support your department's schedules and needs.
Maintain knowledge of carrier pool to ensure equipment availability.Communicate daily and future transportation needs to carriers either directly, or through transportation services.
Demonstrate an understanding of transportation, warehousing and manufacturing processes and functional interdependencies.
Recognize, resolve, and escalate issues identified as potential risks to plant performance.
Supplier Relationships – Our suppliers are important to our success, utilize your relationship-building skills as you manage our partners who help our logistics operations
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Distribution Management
Inventory Optimization
OSHA Standards & Compliance
Safety Management including knowledge of DOT standards
Warehouse Control
ERP Systems
Warehouse Management Software
Education and Experience:
Associate's, or Bachelor's in Warehouse Management, Logistics or a related field degree is a plus
Bachelor's Degree preferred
3+ years experience
