- Responsible for building and leading a team to perform control assessments (i.e., second line testing of controls) that evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of the Banks key controls
- Provide internal controls training and development activities, including Bank-wide and targeted training to support continuous improvements of the first line testing program and to elevate controls management capabilities
- Support the development of control testing frameworks and methodologies
- Create and memorialize detailed control testing documentation and review commentary
- Manage and coordinate all risk activities to ensure material/key risks are identified, escalated, managed, tracked, and remediated timely
- Analyze, aggregate, and articulate the results/issues/recommendations related to control testing activities to senior management, executives, and the Board
- Provide internal controls training and development activities, including Bank-wide and targeted training to support continuous improvements of the Control Program, and to elevate controls management capabilities
- Assist with the validation and closure of control issues as identified through testing results
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all business units, including other second line (e.g., Corporate Compliance) and third line (e.g., Internal Audit) functions
- Contribute to ad-hoc assignments and special projects
- Responsible for developing second line testing program, with budget estimates and manage resources to the annual budget and test plan
- Engages in supervisory duties, performance management, and hiring of direct reports
- Minimum 10 years of experience in controls testing, internal audit, or other complimentary capacities, preferably within the financial services industry or a public accounting firm
- In-depth experience with designing, planning, implementing, leading a testing/audit team, and effectively managing a testing/audit program
- Experience with operating in a collaborative, energetic, dynamic, and highly matrixed working environment
- Strong knowledge of financial services sector, particularly in banking and risk management
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, in all levels of the organization
- Must have strong influential skills, sound judgement and ability to make difficult and sometime unpopular decisions
- Ability to lead and manage team members with various levels of experience, while effectively fostering a collaborative, highly effective and productive team and working environment
- Strong management skills to lead a team to execute an effective and robust testing program, including the identification, communication, reporting, escalation and validation of test results and remediation efforts.

The Senior Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Risk Manager will work within the Banks second line of defense function and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the second line of defense testing function and team. The Manager will be responsible for selecting capable second line of defense testers to conduct consistent and effective second line testing of control design and effectiveness, reporting, and tracking of results and remediation plans.
This role will require an individual with prior experience with implementing a testing or audit function, with in-depth knowledge of bank products, services, and practices; exceptional relationship management, communication, and influencing skills at all levels; a strong focus on effective execution; defining and implementing a sound corporate-wide second line testing and risk management program.
The base pay range for this position is USD $140,000.00/Yr. - USD $200,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
