- Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment (ARUs, MRUs, Chillers) according to industry and EPA guidelines utilizing in-house technicians and outside services.
- Assist in continuous improvement of preventive & corrective maintenance policies & procedures.
- Ensure adequate resourcing and training of contract refrigeration technicians to meet site needs.
- Ensures refrigerant recoveries following Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.
- Responsible for professional communication with internal and external customers at all levels (e.g. management, engineers, project managers, technical support, etc.).
- Coordinate with business maintenance groups and facility tenants to properly plan maintenance jobs including job scope and timeline, reducing operational impact.
- Serve as site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Process Refrigeration.
- Develop and implement Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and task plans for comfort cooling equipment based on current and historic failures and re-work evaluation.
- Provide cost analysis of repair/replace to equipment owner utilizing historic failures and re-work evaluation.
- Lead and participate in department safety meetings.
- Communicate work status with service providers, originators, and facility tenants in a timely manner.
- Improve overall reliability and decrease the cost of refrigeration systems and associated equipment based on historical data and rework evaluation.
- Ensure equipment repair and repair techniques are documented and filed with the appropriate document management system.
- Alternate Work Schedule - Typically 4-10 Schedule.
- Division Support (Call Out) responsibilities are required in certain situations.
- After hours and weekend call is required in certain situations.
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience troubleshooting/repairing HVAC/Process Refrigeration equipment is required.
- Must be able to read, interpret and work from OEM technical manuals, P&ID's and control schematics is required.
- Proficiency with programs related to job and reporting requirements (i.e. Word, Excel, SAP, Outlook).
- A requirement is to obtain the EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification within 6 months of obtaining the role.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
- An associates degree, or Technical diploma in the field of industrial refrigeration or HVAC from an accredited Educational Institute (College, School) and/or 3+ years military.
- Must have the ability to research, understand and implement new processes and technology as needed to meet role responsibilities.
- Have the ability to lead a small work group including scheduling, budgeting, planning etc.
- Ability to work within a Maintenance Work Process and help resolve issues involved in planning and scheduling repairs.
- Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
- Wear and use respirators.
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
- This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.

The Refrigeration Technologist works within the Louisiana Operations Site and is responsible for performing activities and duties associated with the commissioning and maintenance of process refrigeration systems as well as large comfort cooling systems.
You should also have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead contract refrigeration technicians is critical to this role.
You will work closely with reliability engineers, operations personnel, and maintenance technologists to resolve maintenance and repair issues.Responsibilities
