    What's the position?

    We are looking for a team member to join our general accounting department who will be responsible for recording transactions and investigating changes in trends for HRD's service company activities. He/she will be responsible for month end closing, reconciliations, and allocations. The Staff Accountant will also assist with reconciliations of data between systems and manipulating large amounts of data to produce financial reports and analysis.

    Although this role is mostly remote, staff members periodically meet at our offices in south Florida and as such only local candidates can be considered.

    What will you do?

    • Partner with a Manager and/or Senior Accountant to assist with general accounting tasks.
    • Perform month-end closing procedures, including recording journal entries and creating supporting schedules, as assigned.
    • Work within a team that supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaids, cash, intercompany, sales tax and/or VAT, and general costs and expenses.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and book required adjustments.
    • Answer queries regarding general accounting activities and balances.
    • Analyze variances to identify and explain trends for month end closing.
    • Provide support for external audits related to specific areas of responsibility.
    • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    • Assist with the development of scalable accounting processes.
    • Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Support teamwork and cooperation within the accounting team.
    • Complete special projects as assigned.

    Job requirements

    What are we looking for?

    • A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline required (from a nationally accredited university).
    • Background in general accounting including heavy experience with a large ERP system.
    • Two to four years' experience in a large organization with a high volume of transactions.
    • Gaming industry or digital company, and/or public company experience a plus.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Capable of working independently and in a team setting, while balancing multiple projects at any given time.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly proficient in Excel.
    • Experience working with Netsuite or Blackline a big plus.
