    SOUND OIL COMPANY JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: GENERAL MANAGER

    REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT & VICE PRESIDENT

    Sound Oil is the largest, full service, family-owned and operated, home heating oil company in the Puget Sound region.

    BASIC FUNCTION: The General Manager is responsible for all the company's day-to-day business operations including recruiting, training, and staff decisions. To negotiate collective bargaining agreements, to settle grievances and disputes, to maintain cooperative relationships with the labor force and to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. This position is a hands-on job that requires active and participatory engagement, monitoring, direction, and leadership at every level of the organization including overseeing the company's financial status, credit lines, banking relationships, insurance risks, contractual obligations, and to ensure the company is operating in a safe, responsible, and legal manner always.

    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: This position requires a minimum of ten years business management experience including demonstrated leadership, staff development, and mentorship. Must possess excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills. Must have outstanding conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Also requires competency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer applications and excellent time management skills.

    HIGHLY DESIREABLE: College Degree in Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant field of study.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $100, $150,000.00 per year
