Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Journeyman to join our dynamic team. This position will install new electrical systems and repair existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes along with all the policies and procedures of Nemmer Electric, Inc. / NEI Datacom. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Installation & System Work
· Install, repair, maintain, and test commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems in full support of Nemmer Electric Inc., / NEI Datacom safety operations and productivity initiatives.
· Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc., and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems, and other wire raceway systems.
· Feed, pull, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gears, receptacles, switches, etc.
· Splice and terminate wires at junction points.
· Prepare sketches and schematic diagrams showing the location of wiring and electrical systems.
· Install power systems including lighting, fire protection, security, and data network.
· Use industry-related hand and power tools safely and effectively.
· Manage materials and estimates as needed.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
· Troubleshoot equipment, electrical systems, and control circuits, and provide maintenance as needed.
· Read and interpret electrical blueprints to plan, install, and troubleshoot systems.
· Identify, diagnose, and repair faults in electrical systems and circuits.
· Verify installations for compliance and functionality in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Workflow & Leadership Support
· Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all Nemmer Electric Inc. productivity objectives are met.
· Communicate effectively with Foreman and crew members.
· Provide guidance and support to apprentices in day-to-day tasks and field activities.
· Demonstrate strong leadership and pre-planning abilities.
Professional Conduct & Safety Compliance
· Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
· Adhere to all Nemmer Electric Inc., / NEI Datacom safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
· Must hold a current state of Texas Journeyman License or Master Electrician's license.
Desired Education, Experience & Skills:
· Valid DL and clean driving record.
· Experience supervising and managing apprentices.
· Proficient in conduit bending and routing.
· Demonstrate strong leadership and pre-planning abilities.
· Ability to install power systems: lighting, fire protection, security, and data network.
· Ability to troubleshoot and provide maintenance to electrical systems.
· Proficient in reading and comprehension of electrical blueprints.
· Experience finding and repairing faults in electrical systems and circuits.
· Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations.
· Ability to manage materials and estimates.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
· Must be willing to work overtime & weekends as job needs require.
· Safely lift up to 100lbs.
· Ability to safely push/pull wire and conduit on a ladder.
· Physically capable of significant lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, squatting, stooping, bending and/or kneeling while wearing a 25lb tool belt.
· Be willing and able to stand for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions.
· Must have the ability to do tedious work with hands such as grasping and/or manipulating wires.
· Be able to work in high traffic and noisy work environments effectively and efficiently.
· Work in all weather conditions, such as extreme cold, snow, rain, hail, extreme heat, etc.
Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
