    Description
    Job Listing: Production Agriculture Manager

    Essential Functions:

    Day-to-Day Growing Management
    • Manage all farming activities hands-on, including irrigation system installation and oversight of land preparation, planting, nutrient and pesticide applications, disease and pollination management, pruning, plant rotation, and harvesting.
    • Work with harvest, operations, and production services as needed.
    • Oversee pesticide management program and optimize plant health in soil and substrate.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
    • Learn and apply knowledge of pathology in developing organic programs.
    People Management:
    • Hire and supervise labor.
    • Train harvest and non-harvest personnel.
    Operations:
    • Manage budgets, define capital needs, and enhance production practices.
    • Collaborate with internal and external resources for knowledge sharing and innovation.
    • Implement Driscoll's technology and scientific plant development.
    Production:
    • Prepare production data, communicate with partners, and manage cold storage.
    Irrigation Systems:
    • Assist in design and installation of irrigation systems for substrate and soil.
    Horticultural Trials:
    • Install, maintain, and evaluate horticultural trials.
    • Develop acreage study standards to support agronomy model farming.
    Scientific Analyses
    • Implement best practices for soil health.
    • Analyze growth medium responses and apply agricultural data into trends.
    • Ensure quality growth medium and identify contamination.
    Microbial Program:
    • Support beneficial microbes program for optimal plant nutrition.
    • Document applications and results.
    Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge
    • Berry farming and nursery management principles.
    • Agricultural software applications and irrigation systems.
    Skills:
    • Analyze data, communicate effectively, and influence others.
    • Fluency in English and Spanish, additional languages beneficial.
    Abilities:
    • Demonstrate organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
    • Apply critical thinking and scientific methods in plant nutrition.
    • Perform soil chemistry analysis and statistical evaluation.
    • Build relationships and represent the Company professionally.
    Competencies
    • Expertise in various areas including production process, irrigation, and resources management.
    Education Level:
    • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences required.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in production agriculture.
    Field/s of Education:
    • Agricultural Sciences with direct berry crop farming experience.
