    **Customer Services Representative | Billing & Accounts Receivables - Customer Service**

    **UF Health Physicians - Gainesville**

    Department: BAR - Customer Service Assists patients with questions and concerns regarding professional and hospital billing by performing account research, balance verification, patient support and verification of billing and policy compliance. Responsible for activity related to collection of self-pay accounts. Is authorized to initiate patient disputes and approve the movement of patient balances within the Epic Resolute system. Works with the patients, insurance follow-up teams, third-party payers and clinical departments to maximize collections. Must use independent judgment on the prioritization of assigned tasks.

    **Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:**

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    3 years of health care/billing and collections/financial experience or medical office experience required. Four-year degree may substitute for three years of health care/billing and financial experience.

    Working knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act guidelines, medical CPT/ICD10 coding and Epic billing system preferred.

    Coding certification preferred.

    Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-resolution skills.

    The ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities and achieve successful outcomes in a team environment is necessary.

    Candidate must be well-organized, self-motivating, versatile and able to work independently.

    Position requires exposure to and protection of confidential and sensitive information.

    Must be able to perform under high levels of stress and be comfortable discussing and collecting money in a professional manner.

    **Minimum Pay Rate -** Hourly: $15.45

    **Midpoint Pay Rate -** Hourly: $19.65
