    Overall Purpose

    Designs, develops, documents, tests, debugs, and maintains our core MESH infrastructure software. Represents engineering in cross-functional team sessions and able to present sound and thoughtful arguments to persuade others. Adapts to the situation and can draw from a range of strategies to influence people in a way that results in agreement or behavior change. Collaborates and partner with product managers, designers, and other engineering groups to conceptualize and build new features and create product descriptions.

    Essential Functions

    • Owns features or systems and define their long-term health, while also improving the health of surrounding systems.
    • Manages source code using Git
    • Builds automated tests along with sprint work that is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
    • Troubleshoots complex bugs that may arise during development.
    • Assists support and operations teams in identifying and quickly resolving production issues.
    • Develops and implements tests for ensuring the quality, performance, and scalability of our application.
    • Actively seeks out ways to improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
    • Supports the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Education and/or experience typically obtained through a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field.
    • Minimum 10 or more years of experience in designing and developing complex software projects with at least eight or more years in FinTech domain.
    • Extensive experience (9+ years) in software development using C++, with a strong understanding object-oriented design principles.
    • Proven track record of leading and delivering complex software projects from inception to completion.
    • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and work in a collaborative team environment.
    • Experience designing/developing scalable systems
    • Experience with multi-threading and concurrent programming in C++.
    • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
    • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN etc) and DevOps practices.
    • Hands-on in test automation at various levels of testing (unit, component, integration and functional tests).
    • Familiarity with version control systems (eg Git), build systems (eg CMake) and continuous integration systems (eg Jenkins)Solid understanding of modern Cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or MS Azure.
    • Experience of working with bug tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Bugzilla) and Wikis (e.g. Confluence)
    • Experienced with network security and encryption protocols.
    • Experienced with Relational Database concepts.
    • Knowledge of mature engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding, etc).
    • Background and drug screen.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or another technical field
    • Knowledge of Splunk, Altiris & Zabbix
    • Hands-on Experience in working with AWS
    • Experience with various Database design and architectures
    • Expertise in TerraForm and/or other cloud orchestration technologies
    • Experience with Monitoring & Alerting systems like AppDynamics
    • Experience with other computer languages like C#, Ruby, Python, and PHP
    • Knowledge of ACH/EFT
    • Knowledge of real time payment networks (RTP, FedNow)
    The pay scale for this position in:

    Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per year is: $145,000 - $160,000.

    Physical Requirements

    Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
