    Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg position requiring at least 3 years of experience and stepdown-specific skills, with a consistent Friday-Saturday-Sunday schedule.

    Details

    Acute care setting in a Stepdown/Med-Surg unit with 20 beds
    Patient population includes respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
    Stepdown ratio is 1:3; Med-Surg floor ratio is 1:5-6, with 2 nursing aides per shift
    RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
    Telemetry is present on the unit and monitored remotely
    RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
    Charting is performed in Epic
    12-hour day shifts, scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (36 hours/week)
    Every 4-week schedule includes 3 weekend shifts
    Holiday rotation required (day or evening)
    No on-call or standby requirement
    No floating requirement
    13-week contract
    Requirements

    Active WV or compact RN license required
    Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
    Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
    Stepdown experience required
    Epic EMR experience
    Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
    A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
    Any licensing disciplinary actions must be disclosed upfront
    Additional Information

    Royal blue scrubs required
    Unit-specific orientation is provided
    Two supervisor/peer references required — at least one supervisor reference, and if the candidate worked a permanent position in the last 12 months, one reference must be from that facility
    Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before returning; travelers who have worked within WVU Medicine for a cumulative total of one year must also take a 2-year break before reapplying
    Candidates may not be submitted to more than one WVU facility simultaneously

    American Traveler Job ID #P Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined
