    Description

    Summary:

    Lead initiatives, from concept to production, through collaboration with cross functional teams by using industry experience and CAD technologies. Responsibilities to be completed with mindful considerations to safety, cost efficiencies, timeliness, and quality within the specifications required.

    Duties:

    • Design products for the Golf Cart industry from prototype to production.
    • Prepare specifications and quote requests.
    • Coordinates with project team including sales, operations, production, mechanical, management, and possibly clients to provide products meeting requirements.
    • Uses market trends, customer and sale team feedback to define specifications for new products.
    • Coordinates and presents design plans, models and production requirements at review meetings utilizing a PDCA format.
    • Performs design review of products for manufacturability or mold making capacity.
    • Determines process feasibility and development options, designs & reviews, and evaluates models & drawings for new and existing products.
    • Reverse Engineers products with innovative differentiating features to lead the market segment.
    • Creates and Installs prototype or production products for fitment, testing and analysis.
    • Creates drawings for products and occasionally for prototype tooling, testing and sampling purposes. Tuned into new innovative technologies related to business & customer needs, may present for management review and approval.

    Education and Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field is preferred
    • 1-4 years of experience in a vehicle based industry is a MUST
    • Proficient CAD skills using SolidWorks 2D, 3D, Solid Modeling, Surfacing and Assembly.
    • Microsoft Office suite skillset
    • Proven experience in plastic and metal design activities.
    • Supplemental knowledge and experience with tooling design.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing environment involving plastic and metal processes.
