- Supervise the team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure development of staff to achieve high results, and promote engagement and satisfaction to drive retention.
- Partner with the leadership team regarding admissions, care, and discharges.
- Ensure the development, revision and implementation of each child's care plan, and achieve the goals and outcomes established by the care team, child, and family.
- Ensure clinical care is implemented according to best practices as defined by ChildServe policy and practice manuals, including but not limited to infection control and safety.
- Implement and monitor unit-specific quality improvement activities and initiatives.
- Determine and ensure adequate staffing in alignment with care expectations.
- Prepare unit Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and lead implementation of initiatives.
- Proactively communicate to stakeholders (staff, families, and other internal and external partners) to ensure effective information sharing and risk management.
- Assist with development of unit budget and ensure appropriate spending, and manage occupancy to meet goals.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Iowa, BSN preferred.
- Five years of nursing experience in pediatrics, rehabilitation, or children with complex medical conditions.
- Two years of nursing supervisory experience.
- Specialty nursing certifications preferred (CPN, CBIS, CRRN).
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
