    Role Description

    The Estimator role involves managing all estimating activities, including interpreting project plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, coordinating the subcontractor bidding process, and preparing estimates. Estimates can take many forms from conceptual budgets to detailed quotations and include thorough written and cost components. You will be responsible for coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors and leading the preconstruction process. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in estimating commercial construction projects, experience in developing estimates from scratch, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

    Role Responsibilities

    Review and interpret construction documents from concept narratives and sketches to formal RFPs and CD sets.

    Manage and execute the preconstruction process for negotiated projects and competitive bids.

    Prepare complete and detailed estimates, RFP responses, and proposals.

    Create comprehensive trade breakdowns and coordinate subcontractor budgeting / bidding.

    Communicate with architects and owners to clarify constructability concerns and design intents throughout the preconstruction process.

    Qualifications

    Experience in construction estimating

    Knowledge of construction industry standards, labor productivity, phase codes, and unit rates

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Ability to interpret construction documents

    Proficiency in estimation software and tools

    Excellent communication skills and proficiency in formal writing

    Attention to detail and accuracy

    Ability to work effectively in a team environment

    Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or related field is preferred

    The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $160,000. Actual compensation is based on the overall skill level and experience of the individual.
