    Position Purpose: As a Healthcare Compliance Auditor, you play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization adheres to federal health care program regulations, state laws, and regulations. Under the guidance of the Compliance Officer and Director, you will conduct audits and provide essential support to maintain our commitment to compliance.

    Hours/Shift: Days/ M-F 8:00a - 5:00p, occasional after hours possible

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Develops monitoring and auditing tools to perform audits as well as oversee departmental self-monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Audits may include reviewing and verifying medical record documents, and medical coding and billing requirements.
    • Collaborates with departments to ensure completion of management action plans on a timely basis for internal compliance-related findings.
    • Provides guidance to department representatives specific to their departmental needs and provides ongoing education and compliance training.
    • Monitors and keeps up to date with federal health care payor regulations, standards, and guidelines as well as communicates and distributes information related to the updates to the appropriate staff and leadership.
    • Assist with monthly Compliance Workgroup Committee.
    • Assist with Compliance and Privacy investigations.
    • Perform reviews to support proactive monitoring, including developing proactive control reports.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • Education and Experience:
      • Associate degree in healthcare or related field with one (1) year compliance, regulatory readiness, auditing or root-cause analysis experience or equivalent work experience; or
      • Three (3 ) years' experience in healthcare with an emphasis in compliance, regulatory readiness, auditing or root-cause analysis in lieu of education
    Knowledge and Skills:
    • Working knowledge of CMS guidelines and publications with knowledge of general healthcare, overall hospital operations, EMTALA, physician FMV, conditions of participation (COPs), HIPAA, and knowledge of State and Federal laws/regulations.
    • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record software; Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong written and verbal communication and analytical, decisive with exceptional problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently; attention to detail, collect, manage and analyze data; Proficient in drafting comprehensive and articulate reports.
    • Organized, detail oriented, and effectively meet time critical deadlines.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality; Collaborative servant leader characteristics; and provide education to staff and all levels of leadership.
    Work Requirements:
    • Able to see and read reports, computer display terminals, and have manual dexterity to use keyboard; Hearing and verbal ability to interact with internal and external customers.
    • Ability to stand or walk for periods of time; Requires mobility to meet with management at their service area throughout the organization.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time doing the same or similar tasks daily.
    • Working hours may be extended to meet stated objectives.
